WHAT'S TO LOVE ABOUT
EUROPE
Like many Australians, Europe is seen as a means to escape Australian winter (which, in hindsight, is kinda like an English summer) or as a must do on most bucket lists. Ask any soon-to-be school leaver about their ideal gap year and you can be certain that Europe is right there at number one. We're sold pictures of people sunbaking on Greek beaches, partying on sail Croatia, eating gelato in in Italy and celebrating Oktoberfest in Germany.

My gap year came a little after my first university degree (because I definitely needed one after suffocating my soul with essays and three hour long exams). During my gap year I finally made my veture to Europe to see what all the fuss is about. And, let's just say, I was instantly in love. I finished this trip a newfound appreciation of the charming and completely captivating nature of each country I visited.

Fast forward a few years and I am now living in England. And the magic of being able to catch a short flight to a place where I don't speak the language, don't recognise anything on the menu and forever finding myself lost in the maze-like streets of a new place hasn't worn thin yet.
